Flinders Island Latitude Charters – Terms & Conditions
Thank you for choosing Flinders Island Latitude Charters. Please carefully review the following terms and conditions, as they contain important information regarding your rights and obligations in relation to our services.

1. General Provisions
Passengers must arrive at least 20 minutes before departure.
Departure times will be confirmed within 24 hours of the scheduled trip.
Charter prices are subject to modification without prior notice.
2. Passenger Requirements
The vessel, Vanora, accommodates a maximum of 8 passengers and 2 crew members.
Individuals under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
3. Bookings & Payments
A 30% deposit is required at least 3 days prior to departure.
The remaining balance must be paid no later than 24 hours before departure.
If a charter is cancelled or rescheduled by Flinders Island Latitude Charters, passengers are entitled to a full refund.
Gift vouchers are non-refundable but may be rescheduled.
4. Privacy Policy
Flinders Island Latitude Charters is committed to protecting customer privacy and complies with the Privacy Act 1988.
Personal information collected will only be used for booking processing, responding to inquiries, and service provision.
5. Passenger Responsibilities & Liability Waiver
By engaging Flinders Island Latitude Charters’ services, passengers acknowledge and agree that:
The company shall not be held liable for accidents, injuries, property damage, or losses resulting from circumstances beyond its control, including but not limited to adverse weather conditions, mechanical failures, strikes, theft, or government regulations.
If a passenger elects to return to shore prematurely due to illness or any other reason, no refund will be issued. The decision to return remains at the Skipper’s sole discretion.
Flinders Island Latitude Charters bears no responsibility for ancillary costs, including travel, meals, or accommodation.
6. Cancellations & Refunds
A cancellation fee of $30 applies to all passenger-initiated cancellations.
Cancellations made at least 7 days prior to departure are eligible for a full refund of the deposit.
Cancellations made within 7 days of departure will result in the forfeiture of the deposit (30% fee applies).
Cancellations made within 24 hours of departure will incur a 100% cancellation fee.
If a charter is cancelled by Flinders Island Latitude Charters, passengers may opt for a full refund or reschedule their trip.
7. Gift Voucher Policy
Gift vouchers must be presented at the time of booking.
Vouchers are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Vouchers must be redeemed within 12 months of issue unless otherwise specified.
Failure to provide notice of cancellation or late arrival resulting in missed departure will forfeit the voucher.
8. Weather Conditions
Charters are subject to weather conditions, as determined by the Skipper.
Offshore trips require calm conditions that comply with Marine Board regulations.
If inclement weather necessitates cancellation, passengers may opt for a reschedule or refund.
If unforeseen weather changes occur mid-trip, refunds will be at the Skipper’s sole discretion.
9. Safety Regulations
A safety briefing will be conducted prior to departure.
Passengers must disclose any pre-existing medical conditions or required medications.
The Skipper may require passengers to wear a life jacket at any time.
Passengers displaying COVID-19 symptoms must not participate in the charter.
10. Recreational Fishing Licence (RFL)
A fishing licence is not required in Tasmania for rod and line fishing.
Strict adherence to catch limits is enforced to ensure sustainable fishing practices.
Once the catch limit is reached, passengers may continue fishing on a catch-and-release basis.
11. Conduct & Behavioural Expectations
Passengers must conduct themselves in a safe and respectful manner towards crew members, other passengers, and property.
Disruptive, dangerous, or offensive behaviour will not be tolerated.
Passengers who cause damage to equipment or the vessel due to negligence will be liable for repair or replacement costs.
The Skipper reserves the right to terminate a trip without a refund in cases of unsafe or inappropriate behaviour.
12. Liability for Personal Belongings
All personal belongings will be your responsibility. Where consumer law and other laws permits Flinders Island Latitude Charters to exclude its liability, we will not be liable for:
Loss of, or damage to any luggage, property or other belongings.
Sickness, injury or death during embarkation and/or disembarkation to or from the vessel and/or at any time whilst aboard the vessel itself, unless caused by wilful misconduct or reckless disregard by Flinders Island Latitude Charters. You agree to release Flinders Island Latitude Charters, its crew and personnel from any claim and liability incurred, howsoever occurring.
In the unlikely event of an incident occurring during the course of carriage resulting in personal injury or loss or damage due to perceived negligence of Flinders Island Latitude Charters, you will be responsible to prove that your personal injury or loss or damage was the fault of Flinders Island Latitude Charters or its personnel.
13. Alcohol Policy
• Alcohol consumption is permitted onboard; however, passengers must consume alcohol responsibly.
The Skipper reserves the right to:
Refuse alcohol onboard if deemed a safety risk.
Deny boarding to any passenger under the influence of alcohol.
Cancel the trip without a refund if alcohol consumption compromises safety.

By agreeing to these terms and conditions, you are certifying that you are medically and physically fit and able to participate in Flinders Island Latitude Charters and you will not participate under the influence of any illicit drugs, or any prescription medication that would in any way impair your ability to safely participate.
