No, you don’t require to hold a fishing licence in Tasmania for rod and line fishing. Please note catch limits will be strictly kept to so we can preserve our fishery on the island. Once bag limits of species have been obtained, we can continue to fish, but it will be catch and release.

Getting to Flinders Island is straightforward, with several options depending on your starting location:
Sharp Airlines offers regular flights to Flinders Island from Launceston Airport and Essendon Fields Airport (Melbourne).
Flinders Island Aviation operates flights from Bridport in northern Tasmania.

The island is abundant with wildlife from fur seals, a range of sea birds and whales at certain times of the year.

Weather conditions will be assessed two days prior to departure.
Offshore trips are pending on weather conditions. To travel in Bass Strait we require settled conditions that adhere to Marine Board requirements. If inclement weather conditions prevail, it is up to the Skipper’s discretion as to whether the trip will proceed. You may nominate a full refund (minus $30 cancellation fee) of deposit or transfer your deposit to an alternative date if your trip has been cancelled due to weather.

To make your fishing charter experience as enjoyable and comfortable as possible you will need to bring a few things with you:
Water preferably your own water container to reduce waste ( there is extra water on the vessel but please BYO)
Sunscreen
Hat
Wet weather clothing
Camera
Also, if you are prone to motion sickness make sure that you take some tablets before the trip. We provide all the equipment required, however if you have a favourite rod or lures you are welcome to bring them along.

Bringing your own alcohol is allowed onboard the vessel; however responsible consumption of alcohol is to be adhered to. The Skipper reserves the right to: refuse alcohol onboard if he deems it to be unsafe, refuse a passenger onboard the vessel if they are under the influence of alcohol and can cancel the trip with no refund.
